The company was constructing foundations for a canopy at the site and believed they had a leak. MassTech agents tested the tanks and proved them tight but tested the lines and found one leaked. They used a detecting agent in the line that appears as ‘smoke’ at the surface – in this case it emerged as ‘smoke’ from one of the four foundation holes created for the canopy stanchions. It was their own construction work that has caused the line failure.
