Petrol tank testing - filling station | Major Oil Company, London, United Kingdom
The site had been redeveloped but the old tank fleet remained. Rather late on, it was decided to test each tank. MassTech licensees tested and passed all but one tank and that with a tiny leak rate - ingress. The client brought in another tank test that found the ‘leaking’ tank to be tight so he asked MassTech’s licensee for a refund but was refused. MassTech repeated the earlier test, failed the tank for the second time. The tank was emptied, degassed and cleaned and internally inspected – several areas of the tank wall were moistening as water slowly permeated the heavily corroded tank. The client has since standardised on MassTech testing.
