Diesel tank testing | Small Industrial Company, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom
The company had suffered significant losses of diesel fuel following construction work that involved the moving of a ‘portable’ building. MassTech licensees arrived and tested the tank and line, proving the tank tight but the line leaking heavily. By exposing a point halfway along the line, they were able to test the two halves and inspect the condition of the exposed section – both halves also failed and the exposed section was very heavily pitted. It was then reported that another company had recently billed the client for a line test. MassTech advised excavating the entire line and having a professional report written. The other company admitted that they could not have tested the line and that they must have assumed the line was tight. They agreed to meet all costs. They further accepted that they should contribute to the cost of clean up and of lost fuel.
