See citations in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Science and Technology and Who’s Who in America.

Professor Bridges’ earlier experiences include the directorship of more than 30 companies, including time as technical director of Normond Instruments (tank gauge manufacturers) now owned by Veeder Root, and managing director of Micrelec Environmental Systems Ltd (environmental products and services to retail petroleum). He is credited with having introduced both precision tank testing and environmental sensors into Europe, representing a number of American systems.

Following his own invention of hydrodynamics, a unique system of mass-based tank testing, he founded MassTech International Ltd in 1995 and has been serving the petrochemical industry around the world. He has worked in mechanical, electrical, civil, aeronautical and medical engineering fields and, as an inventor, has found this background especially useful as the business becomes increasing environmentally focused. His current patents include a product for detecting contamination of fuel, a range of products for triggering alarms in the presence of contamination and a means of testing vapour recovery systems without suspending sales.

MassTech International Ltd uses its own ideas plus ideas from its own clients and from its worldwide network of licensees to stimulate R&D. The resulting products and services are developed either internally or are subcontracted to a small number of expert specialist companies or individuals. Where appropriate, technologies are thoroughly tested to US EPA protocols by the well-known third party certification laboratory, Ken Wilcox and Associates and then scrutinised and listed by the National Work Group.

The sensors employed most commonly come from the European aerospace industry, whose manufacturers work with MassTech International staff in tailoring technologies to the peculiarities of the petrochemical industry.
